How do I find out what mobility equipment will work for my vehicle?

It is especially important to know if a vehicle will accept the equipment you need before making a vehicle purchase. Call AVM and let us know what equipment you need or have and we will advise you on if your vehicle will will work or what type of vehicle would be most suitable.

What should I do if my lift of ramp stops working when I am out away from home?

AVM offers a 24/7 emergency line dedicated to those who are stranded due to equipment failure. A technician will first try to advise on how to use the emergency overrides that the equipment offers. If there is a dire need for a tech to come address the problem, someone will be sent out. Please note that if a tech is sent to your location, after hours emergency service call charges will apply.

What do I do if I am out of AVM's service area (35 miles) and I need equipment repaired?

If you are outside of our area or even out of state, you can call us and let us know where you are and what kind of issues you are experiencing. We will put you in contact with the closest service facility that repairs mobility equipment.

I am going to need adaptive driving equipment in order to remain independent. How do I know what equipment I need and who can train me on it's use?

Call AVM and let us know what medical condition you have that necessitates the use of driving aides. We will give you the information you need to begin the process. We will also put you in contact with a driving evaluator that will work with you on what equipment you need as well as train you on the use of the driving aides prescribed by the evaluator.

I have a scooter/power chair that I only use occasionally. I haven't used it for a few months. When I tried to charge it, the charger light comes on but the batteries won't charge?

It is important that you charge your mobility device even when not in use. Without charging, the batteries can drop below the voltage level required for the charger to operate. Call AVM and we will advise you on what to do. There are certain instances where the batteries can be brought back to the correct voltage level without having to purchase new batteries.
